Our beautiful little town has a unique attraction and for many years has cemented itself into the hearts of travellers as one of the most beautiful parts of WA. However, we have one little spot in town, right on the main street, that is in desperate need of a new vision.
Pembee-Court, as it is affectionately known to the locals, was once a busy town meeting ground. With food and drinks - art & craft's, new and second hand. Travellers and locals alike could pick something up on the way through or stop for a while in the court yard and just enjoy a good time. Situated directly next door to the Pemberton Best Western Hotel and walking distance from almost all of the accommodations in the main part of town, its location could be described as.. perfect!
All up there are 5 separate commercial units here ranging from 32m2 to 93m2. One has been occupied for a long time by a local restaurant, but it finds itself lonely and awaiting a new fresh enterprise to bring back the atmosphere that once was. Recently there was a specialist food business - 'Holy Smoke' - that has out-grown this court yard precinct and we now seek the next generation business.
We feel this site lends itself to food. It would suit - A take away fish 'n' chip shop. A wood fire pizza café. An up-market burger bar. An Ice-cream or gelato vendor. A Chinese restaurant. Italian homemade pastas. Coffee, cakes and something to take. Chocolate - cheese - toffee or fudge.
From the full service dine in restaurant to just good old take away. Get adventurous and run cooking classes or be that place where you can watch it being made. I can see what this place could be - and I like what I see.
Recently our region became part of the 'Super Town' initiative. With a focus on food. Because, if you didn't already know, this part of the world produces some of the freshest, tastiest, finest food you will ever find. We even have an organisation set up to aid the food industry called the Southern Forests Food Council (Google it). So it's all here ready and waiting. It's a ripper little opportunity and the rent is cheap. I personally think that if this was done well, and with a passionate person, our gorgeous little court could transform from somewhere you find when you get here, to one of the reasons you visit in the first place.
